14

1
Tom Altieri said the six items that have been identified in the recommendations section of 2
the preliminary draft 2050 Land Use Plan are listed here. He said limited feedback has been 3
obtained from the public on these items, and they would require discussions and potentially 4
amendments to the Joint Land Use Plan. 5
Commissioner Carter said she has questions about the coordinated review of 6
intergovernmental planning agreements on a 10-year cycle as included in the draft plan, but that 7
doesn’t need to be answered now. 8
Cy Stober said when looking at other rural buffers throughout the country, like Lexington, 9
Kentucky, and Portland, Oregon, they have a readoption cycle of 5-10 years. He said those 10
jurisdictions revisit whether they've been successful at achieving infill development within the 11
boundaries of those buffers, and if not, why, and what could be done to strengthen density within 12
the buffer. If they have achieved it, then they revisit where the boundaries of the buffer are, 13
understanding what the balance is in the unincorporated areas around those municipalities. 14
