Southern Orange Senior <br />Mebane <br />336- 227 -2031 <br />Center Capital Project <br />Ordinance <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget ordinance, grant project ordinance, and capital project <br />ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2005 -06. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Department of Social Services <br />At its September 7, 2005 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved the <br />release of $50,000 from funds originally budgeted in the Critical Needs Reserve to the <br />Department of Social Services to provide subsidies to families on the Department's day care <br />waiting list. This budget amendment provides for the appropriation of $50,000 from the <br />Critical Needs Reserve for day care subsidies. With this appropriation, $368,500 remains <br />available in the Critical Needs Reserve for FY 2005 -06. (See Attachment 1, column #1) <br />Health Department <br />2. At its September 7, 2005 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved an <br />agreement between the Health Department and the Chapel Hill - Carrboro City Schools <br />(CHCCS) for the Department to provide behavioral health counseling services to CHCCS. <br />This is a one -time agreement for this fiscal year only. The Health Department will assist <br />CHCCS in the identification of students with psychosocial issues that interfere with <br />
