<br />417 <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the voters of Orange County are hereby urged <br />to work, support and vote for the State road bonds at the General Election on <br />November 2, 1965• <br />Adopted this 4th day of October, 1965. <br />AN INTERMEDIATE SUPPORT COURT OF PROPOSED APPEALS IN CONSTITUTIONAL AENDMENT TO <br />RESOLUTION ENDORSING OF AND URGING <br />PERMIT <br />WHEREAS, full and timely consideration of appeals is essential to the orderly <br />administration of justice and to the preservation and protection of the rights of <br />people, and <br />WHEREAS, the case-load of the North Carolina Supreme Court is now double <br />the average case-load of other comparable state courts and will increase even more <br />in serving a growing population, and <br />WHEREAS, the 1965 General Assembly, in order to maintain for all North <br />Carolina citizens full and timely redress through the Courts, has submitted to the <br />voters on November 2, 1965, a proposed constitutional amendment to permit the <br />General Assembly to create and intermediate Court of Appeals, and <br />WHEREAS, such action will better serve the interests of the citizens of <br />North Carolina, NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commmissioners of Orange County that the <br />proposed Constitutional Amendment to permit creation of an intermediate Court of <br />Appeals is hereby endorsed, and <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that all the voters of Orange County are hereby <br />urged to work, support, and vote for the Amendment at the General Election on <br />November 2, 1965. <br />Adopted this 4th day of October, 1965• <br />Dr. Robert J. Murphy, Dr, Charles Blake and Mrs. Alfred Engstrom, <br />representatives of the Hillsborough Historical Society end the Hillsborougb <br />Historical Commission, discussed with the Board of Commissioners the proposed <br />location., of the Public Health Building. These representatives stated that they <br />felt the location of a building on the Cameron School Park property would conflict <br />with the plans of restoration being presently developed by the Historical Society <br />and the Historical Commission. Further discussion ensued. The Board of Commissioners <br />instructed the representatives of the Historical Organizations to make a survey of <br />the opinion of the citizens of Hillsborough concerning the proposed restoration <br />plan and the proposed plans underway for the Public Health Building. The Board <br />of Commissioners agreed to :take no further action of the Public Health Building <br />plans for two weeks. <br />There being no further business the meeting was adjourned, <br />Harvey D.
