Instead I became a
university professor and management consultant, because I was entranced by how humans
interacted with the communities and organizational structures around them. What I've learned is
that public art helps communities thrive. And that's why I'd like to help strengthen the
connection between art and the people of this community.
Please explain your reasons for wanting to serve on this board
Semi-retirement has given me more time for other work. I have been looking for opportunities to
volunteer with community-based organizations. Volunteering with a group that recognizes how
art of all stripes interacts with and enlivens a community seems like exactly the kind of work I'd
like to focus on.
How would your particpation on this board contribute to the diversity of viewpoints?
It's impossible to answer this question without either satire or sarcasm. I can't think of a single
thing that would make sense. And, honestly, these days you could get yourself into trouble with
questions like this.
Do you have any personal or business interest(s)that could create a conflict of interest
(either real or perceived) if you are appointed to this board?
