He said it was explained to him <br /> as a would you rather pay up front or pay later. He said that if they can keep their job with a <br /> reduced length of stay, they should take that because if they are sentenced for a week or a month, <br /> they would lose their job and then would need to receive aid in some form. He said that when <br /> they got out of detention, they might have a record and could not get a job. He said this helped <br /> his view. <br />
