ORANGE COUNTY GOVERNMENT
TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT ri
ORAWY
NORrK CAROLLNA OrangeCouPULICTRAnty
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
County TMP
1) Protect Human and Natural Environment and minimize Climate Change
a) Reduce emissions, GHG, and energy consumption
b) Reduce negative impacts on natural and cultural environment
2) Promote Safety, Health and Well-Being
a) Increase safety of travelers and residents Promote public health through transportation choices
3) Stimulate Economic Vitality and Opportunity
a) Coordinate land use and transportation.
4) Provide a safe,secure, comprehensive,and effective transportation
a) Enhance mobility and accessibility and manage congestion across the transportation system and
across modes of transportation
SAFETY
Complete Streets
The proposed development does not currently align with any planned or programmed Complete Streets projects in
the immediate or surrounding area. However, a review of potential multimodal impacts has been conducted:
• Project Scope:There are no existing or proposed Complete Streets projects in the vicinity of the
development. As such, no immediate integration or coordination with such projects is anticipated.
• Highway Considerations: Any additional vehicular traffic resulting from the proposed development will utilize
a private road. This limits the impact on public roadways and associated Complete Streets initiatives.
• Bicycle and Pedestrian: Similarly, any increase in bike or pedestrian activity is expected to occur along the
same private road, not affecting existing public infrastructure or planned improvements.
• Transit Access: While no transit infrastructure projects are currently planned in the area, the development
may increase the need for Demand Response and Mobility on Demand (MOD) services to support access to
the proposed office space. This should be monitored as the project evolves to ensure adequate transit
service availability.
Vision Zero
The area surrounding the proposed development site has not experienced any fatal or serious injury crashes based
on available safety data:
• Crash History: A review of recent traffic safety records shows no fatality or serious injury accidents in the
vicinity of the project area. This indicates that current conditions are generally consistent with Vision Zero
goals.
• Mitigation Measures: Given the absence of crash history and the limited impact on public roadways, no
specific safety mitigation measures are recommended at this time. However, continued monitoring of traffic
patterns and safety data is encouraged to maintain a safe environment as development proceeds.
