1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: August 26, 2025 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-h <br /> SUBJECT: Purchase of Three (3) Replacement Vehicles for the Transportation Services <br /> Department <br /> DEPARTMENT: Fleet Services <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Quote from Modell Robert Williams, 919-918-4904 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve and authorize Orange County Fleet Services to purchase three (3) <br /> Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Modified ADA Mobility Mini-Vans (Chrysler Voyager) to <br /> provide accessible transportation options to individuals with disabilities who are unable to use the <br /> fixed-route bus service. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Orange County Transportation Services Department is seeking to replace <br /> three (3) vehicles that were damaged and subsequently totaled due to the actions of a contracted <br /> cleaning company. <br /> Orange County Fleet Services proposes the purchase of replacement vehicles to ensure the <br /> continued safe, efficient, cost-effective transportation service for Orange County residents. <br /> Funding for this vehicle purchase was approved as part of the Fiscal Year 2024-25 Budget <br /> Amendment #10 at the Board's June 3, 2025 Business meeting, recognizing the receipt of the <br /> insurance funds, and is included in the Capital Investment Plan budget. <br /> The purchase prices for all items are set through a cooperative purchasing agreement by the <br /> Georgia Department of Administrative Services, which is a service cooperative, and all vehicles <br /> will be purchased from the same vendor— Modell. <br /> It should be noted that there was an issue with the quality of work done by an outside vendor on <br /> a fourth damaged vehicle. The repairs were not completed to the satisfaction of the Fleet Services <br /> and Risk Management. The County Attorney's office is currently reviewing and inquiring about <br /> the repairs with the outside vendor. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total financial impact for the purchase of the three (3) replacement <br /> vehicles is $188,679. <br />
