She asked how the department would <br /> 5 provide the programs in a way that is responsive to the federal guidelines and who would be <br /> 6 responsible. <br /> 7 Travis Myren said there is more capacity in Civil Rights and Civic Life to manage the <br /> 8 program. <br /> 9 Vice-Chair Hamilton asked who oversees the program and how many staff members there <br /> 10 are. She asked if there is any legal training required. She asked what trainings in general are <br /> 11 required for staff for Fair Housing. <br /> 12 Travis Myren said when they hire the investigator, they will be able to hit the ground <br /> 13 running. <br /> 14 Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked what specific training they will need. <br /> 15 Paul Slack, Director of the Office of Civil Rights and Civic Life, said that it is a Fair Housing <br /> 16 Investigations and Intake Training. <br /> 17 Chair Bedford asked if the county attorney serves as the attorney for the department. <br /> 18 Paul Slack said a county attorney is assigned. <br /> 19 Chair Bedford asked if this is the one that the state took over. <br /> 20 Blake Rosser said yes. <br /> 21 Paul Slack said they must process eight cases and hire an investigator. He said once that <br /> 22 is done, they can restart intake and case investigations. <br /> 23 Commissioner Fowler clarified that currently HUD is providing the service. <br /> 24 Paul Slack said yes. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 <br /> 27 <br />
