Items for Decision:
a) VAD update and new farm applications: Perrin presented a summary of activities. There is
one farm being proposed for review; it meets the VAD/EVAD requirements and criteria:
1. Lindsay and Philip Butler: 18.71 acres for VAD, in the Schley/Eno Ag District. One
parcel in pasture for raising miniature Herefords; there is an updated conservation
plan completed and in place; there's not enough timber land to require a timber plan.
Perrin noted that the adjoining parcels shown in the GIS map are owned by John and
Yvonne Cooper, who have those parcels in pasture; more attention will be required to
resolving some conservation issues before those parcels can be eligible for enrollment in
the VAD program. Ranells moved to approve the Butler application, seconded by Saiers;
motion carried. Perrin noted that the two applications approved by the APB in January will
be presented to the BOCC on April 151". She also reported on the new Landscape software
7
