Describe the proposed program and the target population to benefit from the program. Please also <br />explain how the program aligns with the Town of Chapel Hill and Carrboro's Human Services Program <br />Results Framework and Orange County's Strategic Plan FY2025-2029 (250 words or less). <br />Funding for the proposed adult education series is critical to establishing <br />this program as a sustainable initiative. As a new endeavor for The Alliance, <br />the series will be designed to engage nontraditional learners by offering 24 <br />diverse lectures over two 12-week periods. The program will provide <br />enriching cultural experiences and educational opportunities, with <br />proposed topics such as Gaelic lessons with Michael Newton, the history of <br />racing at Occoneechee Speedway, a battlefield surgeon's perspective, a <br />writing workshop with local author Eryk Pruitt, and a sommelier class with <br />Hillsborough Wine Co. <br />The Alliance is currently collaborating with Elon University to develop the <br />program and plans to partner with the Orange County Public Library and <br />Durham Tech for additional local support. This initiative aims to create an <br />accessible, community-centered educational platform that offers unique <br />learning experiences and promotes lifelong learning opportunities. <br />Target Population <br />The program target population demographics table is included as an <br />attachement on the application cover page. Please download the excel <br />spreadsheet and fill out the demographic data in the table and then upload it <br />with your application.
