Please also <br />explain how the program aligns with the Town of Chapel Hill and Carrboro's Human Services Program <br />Results Framework and Orange County's Strategic Plan FY2025-2029 (250 words or less). <br />Part of the funding requested will support the continuation of our Telling <br />the Full Story project. In collaboration with county representatives, we aim <br />to transcribe and digitize a newly uncovered collection of oral histories from <br />the early 1990s. These histories capture the reflections of individuals who <br />lived on or near Occoneechee Mountain and rural farmers from the area. <br />Currently, these invaluable stories lack proper storage or a public <br />repository. <br />The Alliance seeks to expand our existing oral history collection and create <br />a sustainable, accessible digital repository where these and future oral <br />histories can be preserved and shared with the public. The first step <br />involves transcription and digitization, enabling access via online platforms. <br />Oral histories are a vital way to connect our community to its past, fostering <br />understanding and appreciation through diverse perspectives that shape <br />our collective identity. <br />Target Population <br />The program target population demographics table is included as an <br />attachement on the application cover page. Please download the excel <br />spreadsheet and fill out the demographic data in the table and then upload it <br />with your application.
