February 12, 2025 Page 5 of 8
LIFE SAFETY SYSTEM
Technical Support Program
Smoke Evacuation Performance and Verification Testing We will perform the required testing and documentation of
the smoke evacuation systems at the North Campus Detention Center. Siemens will create a Life Safety Testing
Manual based on the Fire Alarms / Smoke Control Matrix created for the construction of the Building, and the
sequences that programmed into the Siemens system. Manual to be approved by Orange County prior to testing.
Testing will be performed semi-annually (2 times per year) on the entire smoke evacuation system including fifteen (15)
Air Handling Units, sixteen (16) Exhaust Fans, eight (8) RTUs, One (1) MAU, nine (9) Fans and a manual check at the
Fireman's Smoke Control Panel. These are based on the Fire Alarm / Smoke Control Matrix below.
Documentation will include three professional, bound reports and one PDF report in electronic format, detailing the
results of the test and any recommended repairs to the system components. Reports will also be submitted into the
Compliance Engine.
Orange County will need to provide personnel at the Siemens Workstation to verify alarms and system response.
Orange County will need to provide personnel at the Detention Center to provide access, trigger alarms and perform
generator test (if applicable).
Orange County will need to arrange for and provide unhindered access within the facility.
Each Test is planned to be completed in 2 consecutive days to minimize disruption to the facility.
Excessive downtime resulting from access problems in the facility will be negotiated and billable.
Testing is to be conducted during regular business hours (M-F, 8-5).
Generator testing (if applicable) by Siemens is not included. Orange County will need to provide copies of the generator
test to Siemens for inclusion in the formal report (if needed).
Corrective labor and materials are not included under this service agreement.
Docusign Envelope ID: CF92EF59-38A0-4AC1-BF66-D10A40CFFFE2
