Call to Order at 636pm by Anita Mills <br /> 2. Marlon moved that February 2023 Board Minutes be approved and Crystal seconded.All <br /> approved. <br /> 3. Board updates Katie Murray <br /> a. Updates <br /> i. Denise Duffy application --goes to BOCC tomorrow night (3/14) so first meeting <br /> should be in April pending approval. <br /> ii. Jenny Schultz-Thomas application—presented an addendum for non-OC <br /> residents to server on our board, which followed template from another <br /> organization, but board did not approved it. Request was made to rewrite the <br /> addendum to say we can have one board member at large not from Orange <br /> County. <br /> iii. Gideon Young potential applicant—poet Katie met through Coalesce First Friday <br /> at the Mill and has a background in education plus lives in Chapel Hill. <br /> iv. Christie Hinson Norris potential applicant—director of NC K-12 at UNC-CH and <br /> works with schools across the state on arts integration. <br /> b. CHCAC Liaison update -Josh's term on goes through mid-2024 so will be good in the <br /> liaison role between our board and the CHCAC. <br /> 4. Director's Report Katie Murray <br /> a. Katie passed around a Volunteer sign-up form for events at the Mill and noted that if <br /> everyone just signed up for two events we'd have them all covered. <br /> b. Grants <br /> i. ARPA money will be used for countywide DEIA Program with Aisha Adams. <br /> Information went out and 16 organizations have responded and we might have <br /> 70 participants.The first meeting is in person with a tentative date in late April <br /> with the following three meetings in May and June. It must be over by June 30. <br /> ii. Arts Educators—grants are live. Four$500 grants. Public and Charter. Deadline <br /> is Monday 4/3/2023. <br /> c. Big Night In for the Arts <br /> i. Thank Fred for being the kickoff presenter for the entire program. Thank you, <br /> Anita, for volunteering. <br /> ii. Live streaming did not work until 7:40pm. WRAL is keeping the streaming up for <br /> 30 more days due to the issue. We saw lower donations, which is probably due <br /> to the streaming issue.The show was really good—especially the vignettes, <br />
