NC Office of The Governor Proclamation Release <br />AMATEUR RADIO WEEK <br />2004 <br />BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />A PROCLAMATION <br />WHEREAS, the State of North Carolina has more than 21,000 licensed Amateur Radio <br />operators who have demonstrated their value in public assistance by providing emergency radio <br />communications; and <br />WHEREAS, these Amateur Radio operators donate these services free of charge to the <br />citizens of North Carolina and the world; and <br />WHEREAS, these Amateur Radio operators are on alert for any emergency, local or world- <br />wide, and practice their communication skills during the Field Day exercise of the American Radio <br />Relay League, Inc.; and <br />WHEREAS, this year's Amateur Radio Field Day will take place June 26-27, 2004; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, MICHAEL F. EASLEY, Governor of the State of North Carolina, do <br />hereby proclaim June 20-27, 2004, as "AMATEUR RADIO WEEK" in North Carolina, and urge <br />our citizens to pay appropriate tribute to the Amateur Radio operators of our State. <br />Page 1 of/1 <br />V <br />MICHAEL F.
