Katie shared financials for upcoming grant cycle and how grant funds will be divided between artist, arts <br /> organizations, and schools. This year we will include the Outside Agency Program funds for the Arts in our <br /> funding pool. <br /> Katie made a recommendation for how the Arts Organization funding be split between operation support vs <br /> program support. Also, Katie recommended we exclude organizations with $2M &up budget from applying for <br /> operational support grants. <br /> Katie reviewed her proposed use for NC Arts Council ARPA funds which must be submitted by early May. She <br /> will split the money '/z between subgrants to arts organization and 1/2 to the OCAC to support additional staffing <br /> (part time to full time person) <br /> Katie reviewed grant cycle timeline and will distribute to board members via email. <br /> Motion to approve plan for grant funding and the ARPA funding (both of Katie's plans presented)— Krista <br /> Bremer. Seconded by Sarah Shore. Unanimous approval by Board <br /> 6) Liaison Reports <br /> a) UNC Student Liaison Update Hannah Fatool <br /> • wrapping up last weekend of student theatre, music, and other events. <br /> • Lots of excitement from students about Arts Everywhere <br /> b) Chapel Hill Arts Commission Justin Haslett <br /> • ongoing conversation between Commission and town about the percentage of funding <br /> that should be spent on arts projects. Discussion and clarification when a project is a <br /> capital project and requires arts funding. Chapel Hill needs to have money for <br /> maintenance of art and new art. <br /> c) UNC Crystal Wu <br /> • Arts Everywhere was in person (1st since 2020) and went very well. <br /> • Big scream worked very well. Led by Master Theatre students. <br /> • Ackland Museum opens two new exhibits-one including MFA students <br /> • PlayMakers has Wrinkle in Time <br /> • Carolina Performing Arts— Hip Hop South coming up <br /> • Galapagos sculptures around campus — huge and impactful <br /> d) Hillsborough Arts Council John Bemis <br /> • Focus of Arts Council is on Community events <br /> • Handmade parade weekend coming up <br /> e) The ArtsCenter- Mark Bettger <br /> • Moving into new building -400 Roberson Road. Jones Rd building is off the table. <br /> Upfitting the building is current focus. <br /> • Camps signup and afterschool in full swing <br /> • Gallery back open with show <br /> • Executive search is underway for placement by July <br /> f) Carrboro Arts Committee - Justin <br /> • no update this month <br /> g) Visitor's Bureau - still need representative! <br /> h) Orange County Artists Guild - Anita Mills <br /> • Excited for Spring Show at Eno Mill next month <br /> • May 1st is registration for 2022 Open Studio tour <br /> 7) Artistic Sharing <br /> • Discussed what Arts Organizations are doing regarding mask requirements now that no county <br /> mandate. <br /> • In person board meeting next week at the Eno Mill. <br /> • The Board agreed to wear masks at our meeting. <br /> 8) Fred Joiner adjourned meeting at 7:56pm <br />
