ORANGE COUNTY ARTS COMMISSION <br /> February 14, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Virtual Meeting-Zoom <br /> Board Members present: Fred Joiner, Chair,Delia Keefe, Secretary; Crystal Wu, Lindsay Metivier,Justin <br /> Haslett, Marlon Torres, John Bemis, Linda Williamson <br /> Board Members absent:Anita Mills, Vice-Chair, Sarah Shore, Sean Bailey, Hannah Fatool, Krista Bremer, <br /> Brad Porter <br /> Staff Present: Katie Murray, Executive Director <br /> 1) Fred called the meeting to order at 6:34 pm. <br /> 2) Linda moved to approve the January minutes <br /> as amended. Crystal seconded. The minutes were approved. <br /> 3) Board member discussion <br /> a) Katie would very much like to have representation from <br /> the ArtsCenter on the board. Justin made a motion to <br /> vote on the acceptance of the application of Mark Bettger, <br /> Deputy Director of the ArtsCenter, to the board. Marlon <br /> seconded. The vote was unanimous in favor. This is <br /> Position#4 for a partial term. This will go before the <br /> county commissioners. <br /> b) Position#15 is a full term position beginning 4/1/22. <br /> This is in progress as Katie makes some connections. <br /> 4) Director's Report: <br /> a) State funding updates <br /> Orange County will receive $140,000 over the next two years. <br /> The county is required to sub-grant$70,000 out to the <br /> community. The other$70,000 could fund another full- <br /> time staff member. This position would focus on operations <br /> and grants management. The position would be community facing. <br /> b) DEI program update <br /> This program is on hold right now. This is the next priority after <br /> hiring another full-time staff person. <br /> c) Eno Mill update <br /> During November and December 65 people took classes. In <br /> October,November, and December there were $10,000 in <br /> art sales. We will resume openings in March. <br /> We are looking for summer camp instructors. We are working <br /> with Title I schools for advance registration. <br /> The group show in April, Home, will include visual artists and <br /> writers. The show will address housing issues which is a very <br />
