b) Big Night in 2022 <br /> This event is scheduled for March 10—WRAL. <br /> There are many asks to artists out. We are looking for <br /> sponsorships. Last year's event supported the needs of <br /> the mill to set up as an arts space. <br /> c) The Beacon updates <br /> This county-wide arts festival has been pushed to the summer <br /> of 2023. We have received an NEA grant to fund this along with <br /> funds from the county. Full details in February. <br /> d) Fed, state funding updates <br /> e) Update to Outside Agencies Grant for arts orgs <br /> We will have a sizable chunk of money to direct. We need to <br /> discuss how we will handle this money and how we will <br /> hand it out. <br /> f) Performing arts space for Hillsborough <br /> g) Coming soon—DEI, Photography space groups <br /> Katie hopes that some members will assist in planning. <br /> We should examine our own practices concerning racial equity. <br /> This educational program will be free of charge and available to <br /> organizations that need it most. It will be required to have taken <br /> this "class". Understanding historical background will be very <br /> important. <br /> 5) Arts in Education Grant Application Review and remaining GAP funds <br /> The board discussed using available education funds for the <br /> Community Remembrance Coalition. This important cause fulfills <br /> the multicultural requirement and we could combine this with <br /> teaching school aged children about these issues. <br /> McDougle Elementary School PTA grant application- <br /> Linda motioned to support, Lindsey seconded. Approved. <br /> Orange High School Theatre grant application— <br /> Krista motioned to support, Crystal seconded. Approved. <br /> Amended motion—to fund at $3000. <br /> 6) Liaison reports <br /> a) UNC Student Liaison Update <br /> Classes are in session. Challenge—how do we move forward <br /> during covid? <br />
