ORANGE COUNTY ARTS COMMISSION <br /> January 10, 2022 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Virtual Meeting - Zoom <br /> Board Members present: Fred Joiner, Chair, Delia Keefe, Secretary; Sean Bailey, Crystal Wu, Lindsay <br /> Metivier, Hannah Fatool, Justin Haslett, Marlon Torres, John Bemis, Linda Williamson, Dan Mayer, Krista <br /> Bremer, Brad Porter <br /> Board Members absent:Anita Mills, Vice-Chair; Sarah Shore <br /> Staff Present: Katie Murray, Executive Director <br /> 1) Fred called the meeting to order at 6:34 pm. <br /> 2) Brad moved to approve the November minutes. <br /> Marlon seconded. The minutes were approved. <br /> 3) Board member discussion <br /> The board should cover visual,performing, and literary arts <br /> as well as arts administration. The board represents Chapel <br /> Hill, Carrboro, Hillsborough, and Mebane. It should be made <br /> up of 30%people of color to represent all. Members must <br /> live in Orange County. Visual artists should be well represented. <br /> Katie listed some names of possible candidates and is asking <br /> for more suggestions from board members. We will discuss <br /> this again in February. <br /> 4) Director's Report: <br /> a) Eno Mill Update <br /> i) We are not sure yet about the next opening. <br /> ii)We need a name for our monthly opening series that does <br /> not contain"first Friday". <br /> iii) The February exhibit will be Kennedi Carter. <br /> Mango and Jessie have an installation in the hallway. <br /> OCAG did not publicize much and did not have many sales. <br /> We need to encourage more of a partnership in the future. <br /> iv) Summer camps are in the planning stage and we are looking <br /> for teaching artists. <br /> v) We will have an open call for a group show in April titled <br /> "Home"in partnership with OC Department of Housing. <br /> This show could include spoken word artists. April is <br /> National Poetry Month and this show could also include <br /> poets and writers. <br /> vi) We will be gathering input from artists to determine what <br /> is needed for a community dark room. <br />
