ORANGE COUNTY ARTS COMMISSION <br /> November 8, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Virtual Meeting - Zoom <br /> Board Members present: Fred Joiner, Chair, Anita Mills, Vice-Chair, Delia Keefe, Secretary; Sean Bailey, <br /> Crystal Wu, Lindsay Metivier, Hannah Fatool, Justin Haslett, Marlon Torres, Sarah Shore, John Bemis <br /> Board Members absent: Linda Williamson, Dan Mayer; Krista Bremer, Brad Porter <br /> Staff Present: Katie Murray, Executive Director <br /> 1) Fred called the meeting to order at 6:35 pm. <br /> 2) Justin moved to approve the October minutes. <br /> Crystal seconded. The minutes were approved. <br /> 3) 2022 Board Officers discussion <br /> a) Chair: Fred Joiner, 3rd of 3 possible terms <br /> b) Vice-chair: Anita Mills, 2nd of 3 possible terms <br /> c) Secretary: Linda Williamson, Pt of 3 possible terms <br /> John moved to approve these appointments. <br /> Justin seconded. All were approved. <br /> 4) Director's Report: <br /> a) Eno Mill Update <br /> i) Monthly openings—volunteers needed. <br /> Volunteers are needed for monthly openings. The <br /> second opening went very well. Katie hopes that <br /> the board members will make their best effort to <br /> attend openings. It is very welcoming to have board <br /> members greeting people, mingling, and guiding visitors. <br /> ii) Name for openings. <br /> We need to name the openings. The Hillsborough Arts <br /> Council does not want First Fridays at the Mill. Think <br /> about a name. <br /> iii) Classes update <br /> We are slowly rolling out classes and workshops. We are <br /> looking for performance and literary arts instructors. Please <br /> connect Katie with recommendations. Pricing is high and <br /> is not accessible to many. We need to work this out. <br /> b) Arts in Education Grants <br /> Grants are delayed. We are trying to work with the Carolina <br /> Theater.
