Timing of arrears: <br />¦ Good pay customers - 30-day bill. If no pay or insufficient <br />partial pay, 60-day bill rendered with prior account balance due. <br />If no pay or insufficient partial pay, 90-day bill is rendered with a <br />prior account balance due and the final notice message <br />included and a potential disconnect date 25 days out. If no pay <br />or insufficient partial pay within 25 days (or 115 days of service), <br />then 24-hour notice is hand delivered. In the event of a no pay <br />or insufficient partial pay situation, then a non-pay disconnection <br />would apply. <br />¦ Poor pay customers - same as above - final notice message <br />and potential disconnect date 25 days out are included in the <br />60-day bill. The 24-hour notice is delivered at 85 days instead <br />of 115. <br />¦ Late payment charges - accrue at rate of 1.5% after 25 days <br />from billing <br />¦ Deferred Payment Arrangements - Customers must be in <br />arrears and have received the arrears letter. Two options are <br />available: 1) 5 day DPA; or 2) suggested DPA (which can <br />extend payback for over one month, but usually no more than <br />two), depending on past payment history of customer. No DPA <br />is offered if: no payment in last 60 days; returned check <br />received within last 6 months; customer is taken off of our <br />Equalized Payment Plan option. <br />¦ Reconnect fees - $25.75 if from 8am to 5pm Monday thru <br />Friday; and $77.25 if after hours or on weekend <br />Deposit info - $100 for basic service; and $250 for all electric. In <br />some situations, may require two months bill. <br />Third Party notification - Duke adds third party contact <br />information. If customer is in arrears, the third party receives a <br />copy of the arrears letter also. This is usually good for elderly or <br />severely ill customers.
