20 <br />9 | FACILITIES <br />Facilities to be used to process / manage collected recyclable materials <br />WMRA is excited to continue to to process Orange County’s recyclables at our Raleigh Materials <br />Recovery Facility (MRF) Our state-of-the-art Raleigh MRF commenced operations in December, 2020 <br />and was fully operational in January, 2021. This 42,000 square foot, brand new facility leads the recycling <br />processing industry with emerging technology that focuses on efficiency. Some of the operational <br />elements of this MRF include: <br />•Two (2) non-wrappable fiber screens <br />•Optical plastics sorter <br />•Optical paper sorter <br />•Automated bunker storage system with <br />laser measurement <br />•Two (2) top-of-the-line balers, one (1) for <br />old corrugated cardboard (OCC) and one <br />(1) for all commodities <br />•Split-wall conveyor to feed glass and residue into our WM Transfer Station glass bunker and <br />municipal solid waste (MSW) tip floor <br />•Shared OCC and single stream recyclable tip floor with technology to ensure industry-leading <br />safety and material grading <br />•Fire Rover AI-driven fire suppression system <br />•Tip floor equipped with RTZ 1080p auditing cameras that can be controlled and monitored 24/7 <br />remotely <br />•A second scale was installed in 2021 to enable more efficient traffic pattern for the weighing <br />process <br />•15 tons per hour processing of SSRY and 15 tons per hour of cardboard processing <br />•Significant increased capacity from the Capital Boulevard MRF to support the ever-growing <br />triangle population <br />•Square footage: 42,000 <br />•Estimated number of employees per shift: 25 <br />Docusign Envelope ID: 3C46D4D9-4262-4835-B314-9FEB472CCC00
