b. Orange County Manager budget-will have funding in July and August for Aging take- <br /> away meals as of right now. Outside agency funding will be discussed this Thursday at <br /> the BOCC meeting. Next Thursday's meeting will discuss human services. 2.95 cents <br /> above revenue neutral proposal currently. 16/27 County departments are below this <br /> year's budget.Aging is not one of those departments, as we requested funs for: CBS <br /> services/trainings, language access, driving access for older adults, and AT in-home <br /> services. Asked for$58,000 and got$40,000. <br /> c. Federally and at a state level, SHIIP funding is in jeopardy. <br /> 12. May is Older Americans Month—Theme this year is "Flip the Script on Aging" <br /> a. BOCC Proclamation approved on May 6 <br /> b.Two shoutouts from the commissioners for Older Americans Month. <br /> 13. Community Support and Health Services: <br /> Objective 7.1: Develop supports and resources to promote mental/ behavioral health <br /> Strategy 7.1.1: Offer training to increase knowledge for community members and <br /> professionals. <br /> OCDoA Wellness Program- 7.1.1.a At least 6 trainings offered quarterly. <br /> 2 New programs to promote Mental Health offered for the central and northern parts of the <br /> county: Coping with depression, anxiety& prioritizing self-care ; Tapping 101 —reached 30 <br /> participants <br /> Objective 7.2: Expand enriching volunteer opportunities for older adults <br /> Strategy 7.2.2: Increase the number of Orange County older adults participating in existing <br /> volunteer opportunities <br /> VC55+- 7.2.2a. Enrollment in volunteer opportunities is increased by 10% during 2022-2027. <br /> 87 volunteer orientations during Q3. <br /> 7.2.2b. The number of racially diverse, multilingual, and multigenerational volunteers is <br /> increased. <br /> New Q3 volunteers identified as Black/African American (2) and Asian/Indian (18). <br /> 18 new volunteers in Q3 are under the age of 55. <br /> Objective 7.4: Expand services to help older adults age in community <br /> Strategy 7.4.1: Expand available support for older adults from communities of color. <br /> OCHD- 7.4.1 c.
