b. Orange County Manager budget-will have funding in July and August for Aging take- away meals as of right now. Outside agency funding will be discussed this Thursday at the BOCC meeting. Next Thursday's meeting will discuss human services. 2.95 cents above revenue neutral proposal currently. 16/27 County departments are below this year's budget.Aging is not one of those departments, as we requested funs for: CBS services/trainings, language access, driving access for older adults, and AT in-home services. Asked for$58,000 and got$40,000. c. Federally and at a state level, SHIIP funding is in jeopardy. 12. May is Older Americans Month—Theme this year is "Flip the Script on Aging" a. BOCC Proclamation approved on May 6 b.Two shoutouts from the commissioners for Older Americans Month. 13. Board appointments—May 13.Will be discussed tonight and voted on during the next meeting. Requested: Jon to extend, Gigi to extend, and Vibeke to extend (3-year request). 2022-27 Master Aging Plan 14. Third Quarter Year 3 Reports a. Community Support and Health Services: Objective 7.1: Develop supports and resources to promote mental/ behavioral health Strategy 7.1.1: Offer training to increase knowledge for community members and professionals. OCDoA Wellness Program- 7.1.1.a At least 6 trainings offered quarterly. 2 New programs to promote Mental Health offered for the central and northern parts of the county: Coping with depression, anxiety& prioritizing self-care ; Tapping 101 —reached 30 participants Objective 7.2: Expand enriching volunteer opportunities for older adults Strategy 7.2.2: Increase the number of Orange County older adults participating in existing volunteer opportunities VC55+- 7.2.2a. Enrollment in volunteer opportunities is increased by 10% during 2022-2027. 87 volunteer orientations during Q3. 7.2.2b. The number of racially diverse, multilingual, and multigenerational volunteers is increased. New Q3 volunteers identified as Black/African American (2) and Asian/Indian (18). 18 new volunteers in Q3 are under the age of 55. Objective 7.4: Expand services to help older adults age in community Strategy 7.4.1: Expand available support for older adults from communities of color. OCHD- 7.4.1 c. Information resources hubs located within communities of color are created. 1 event with a total of 15 people reached. Shared information on area resources and information on 988 and 211. Provided other agency specific information/resources. OC CHAMPS (Community Health Advocacy& Mobilization Partners) Committee continues provide resources for Spanish speaking communities Created information hubs at the Efland Cheeks and Cedar Grove Community centers Objective 7.4: Expand services to help older adults age in community Strategy 7.4.1: Expand available support for older adults from communities of color.
