14 <br /> FY2025-35 Recommended Capital Investment Plan <br /> Mission Support �■ <br /> • Evidence Storage Building- $3,708,500 <br /> (p. 63) <br /> — Current evidence storage is in the former <br /> detention center facility <br /> — New building to be located at the Northern <br /> Campus on US 70 West <br /> — Includes office space for staff members who <br /> manage the evidence <br /> — Size and scope of new facility under review as <br /> part of the Justice System Space Needs Work <br /> Group1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> is NORTH CAROLINA <br /> Travis Myren said that if the Sheriff's Office is moved to the Link Building, there will also <br /> be capacity for "warm" evidence storage. He said that it would decrease the size of the <br /> evidence storage building listed in slide #13 and reduce the cost to about $2.4 million. He said <br /> the smaller storage building would still be needed for"cold" storage. <br /> Chair Bedford asked what the timeline is for deciding on the Link Building and amending <br /> the budget. <br /> Travis Myren said that staff will work with the Sheriff's Office to make a final <br /> determination and then they will bring that back to the Board as a budget amendment. <br /> Slide #14 <br />
