ORANGE TRANSPORTATION <br /> COUNTY GOVERNMENT <br /> TRANSPORTATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT <br /> COUNTY <br /> NoKrH CA 01 I NA OrangeCounty <br /> PUBLIC TRANSIT <br /> Item 6.a. <br /> Subject: County Land Use Plan Update <br /> PURPOSE: To receive an update on the Orange County Land Use Plan 2050 planning process. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> At its March 11, 2025 work session,the BOCC received a presentation from Clarion Associates on <br /> a preliminary Public Review Draft of the LUP 2050 for BOCC review and feedback. Board review <br /> and feedback on the draft was requested to inform any necessary changes to the draft prior to <br /> the opening of the next Community Engagement Window. Subsequently, the Board requested <br /> additional background information from County staff for the purpose of further informing its <br /> review. <br /> Community Engagement Window#3, which was scheduled for May—July of this year, has been <br /> postponed to allow additional time for the BOCC's review and Clarion Associates professional <br /> services paused. <br /> At its April 8, 2025 work session, the BOCC received a presentation from Planning staff that <br /> included an overview of information available on the LUP 2050 project website and tentative <br /> calendar options for staff to present the additional information requested by the Board. Based <br /> on input received, the BOCC will be receiving materials and presentations from Planning staff <br /> through mid-November of this year, possibly beyond. <br /> As more is known about the schedule and next steps, the contract with Clarion Associates will <br /> likely be amended and information will be shared with the OUTBoard. <br /> Orange County Planning and Inspection Director Cy Stober and Senior Planner — Long Range <br /> Planning Tom Altieri will provide an update on the County Land Use Plan 2050 planning process. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: No financial impact currently. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN:This item supports: <br /> Mission Statement <br /> Orange County is a visionary leader in providing governmental services valued by our community, <br /> beyond those required by law, in an equitable, sustainable, innovative and efficient way. <br /> Vision Statement <br /> We are a diverse, inclusive, and healthy county working together to strengthen our community <br /> and enhance the quality of life for all residents. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): Receive update. <br />
