He said that as projects get <br /> 5 closer, they can look to see if anything can be pushed out farther. He said a 10-year plan is <br /> 6 meant to capture expected costs so the county can plan. <br /> 7 Chair Bedford said if it can be moved two years, that could save $2-$3 million dollars <br /> 8 and those could be saved for other emergency needs and it would make a difference in debt <br /> 9 service, as well. <br /> 10 Commissioner Fowler asked what the recommended frequency is for full electrical <br /> 11 redoes. <br /> 12 Angel Barnes said she would look into it. <br /> 13 Commissioner McKee said you do not want to wait for things to get bad or for buildings <br /> 14 to collapse because the county delayed necessary improvements. He said that he does not <br /> 15 want to continue the mindset of everything is fine and we can keep doing as they have been <br /> 16 doing. <br /> 17 Commissioner Carter asked if there are any operational savings from the upgrades. <br /> 18 Travis Myren said they are representing a general decline in the rate of increase based <br /> 19 on the energy efficiency. <br /> 20 Chair Bedford said that would have to do with LED lights but not necessary the <br /> 21 transformers and wires. <br /> 22 Commissioner Fowler said the lifespan is 20-30 years and she would like to know where <br /> 23 they are in that. <br /> 24 Chair Bedford said it would be good to have an inspection. <br /> 25 Alan Dorman said West Campus was built in 2009 and he said they built a lot of <br /> 26 buildings between 2007-2009. <br /> 27 Commissioner Fowler said it looks like we are using the 20-year rather than the 20-30- <br /> 28 year plan. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 Slide #13 <br />
