STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />COUNTY OF ORANGE <br />AMENDMENT TO LEASE <br />WHEREAS a lease agreement was made and entered into as of the sixteenth day of <br />February, 1999, by and between the County of Orange, a political subdivision of the State of <br />North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as "County" and the Orange County Literacy Council, <br />whose mailing address is 503 West Franklin Street, Chapel Hill, North Carolina (hereinafter <br />referred to as Literacy Council). <br />Section 3 shall be modified to read as follows: <br />TERM: The term of this renewal shall commence on July 1, 2004 and shall <br />terminate on July 1, 2009, unless the Literacy Council no longer provides services <br />consistent with those offered at the Skills Development Center, or is unable to meet the <br />performance standards as set out by the Skills Development Advisory Committee, under <br />which circumstances this lease shall be terminated with sixty (60) days notice to Literacy <br />Council. <br />2. Section 4 shall be modified to read as follows: <br />RENT: The Literacy Council shall pay to the County the sum of $7,200 per <br />annum, payable in monthly installments of $600, each monthly installment payable on <br />the first day of each month during the term of this lease renewal. <br />Except as expressly modified herein, all of the terms, covenants, and conditions of the lease are <br />hereby ratified and confirmed to be in full force and effect. <br />IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, this amendment has been executed, by the parties hereto, this 8th <br />day of June, 2004. <br />Orange County Literacy Council <br />Executive Director <br />ATTEST: <br />County of Orange <br />Barry Jacobs, Chair <br />ATTEST: <br />Secretary Donna S.
