Page 2 of 3 <br />• The County Shelter may in its discretion bear the cost of emergency care for animals <br />that do not appear to have an owner or custodian, <br />The County Shelter shall attempt to contact at a time which is reasonable under the <br />circumstances in each situation, the owner or custodian of each animal involved in an <br />emergency requiring the assistance of the Society. <br />The County Shelter shall make quarterly reports to the Town on the animal services <br />which required a response to a routine animal control call or an animal-related emergency <br />within the Town.. These quarterly reports will list the date of the call, name of the caller; <br />street location of animal, species of animal, animal ID#, and type of assistance rendered. <br />These reports will be forwarded to the Canboro Police Department. <br />Where Town Police, and/or Animal Control Officers are also on the scene of an <br />animal-related emergency, the County Shelter personnel shall cooperate with Town <br />personnel in matters involving safety of persons and/or enforcement of the Town's <br />animal control ordinance. <br />Upon receipt of invoice and for the services of EARS, the Town shall matte four equal <br />quarterly installments of $1500.00 to the County for a total amount of $6,000.00 in fiscal <br />year 2004-2005. <br />This agreement shall be in effect for the period beginning .July 1, 2004 and ending on Tune <br />3Q 2005, subject to annual renewal as negotiated and agreed upon by both parties, unless <br />either party gives 30 days notice of intention to cancel this agreement. <br />L+ witness whereof, the parties hereur+to cm+se this agreement to be executed iu tbeir~ respective <br />names. <br />This the day of , 2004 <br />ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />BARRY JACOBS, CHAIR <br />
