Products by other manufacturers must be submitted to the Architect for approval ten (10) days prior to the <br />date of the bid opening. To be considered for approval, products must meet the specifications herein and be <br />acceptable to the Architect and Owner. Products to be approved for use in this project must have PREBID <br />WRITTEN APPROVAL from the Architect. Such approval will only be issued in the form of an Addendum, <br />listing all approved equals. Any other commitments, verbal or otherwise, will not be honored. <br />2.2 SPECIAL COATING MATERIALS, GENERAL <br />A. Material Compatibility: Provide block fillers, primers, finish coat material, and related materials that are <br />compatible with one another and the substrates indicated under conditions of service and application as <br />demonstrated by the manufacturer based on testing and field experience. <br />B. Material Quality: Provide the highest grade of the various coatings as regularly manufactured by acceptable <br />coating manufacturers. Materials not displaying manufacturer’s identification as a best-grade product will not <br />be acceptable. <br />1. Proprietary Names: Use of manufacturer’s proprietary product names to designate colors or materials <br />are not intended to imply that products named are required to be used to the exclusion of equivalent <br />products of other manufacturers. Furnish the manufacturer’s material data and certificates of <br />performance for proposed substitutions. <br />C. Colors: Provide color selections made by the Architect from the manufacturer’s full range of standard colors. <br />2.3 MASONRY-BLOCK FILLERS <br />A. Masonry Block Fillers: Provide the manufacturer’s recommended factory-formulated concrete masonry block <br />fillers that are compatible with the finish materials indicated. <br />B. Available Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, block fillers that may be incorporated in the <br />Work include: <br />1. ICI 4000 Interior/Exterior Heavy Duty Acrylic Block Filler <br />2. SW- B42W46 Interior/Exterior Heavy Duty Acrylic Block Filler <br />3. Approved equal by BM, PPG, MAB. <br />2.4 PRIMERS AND SEALERS <br />A. Primer/Sealers: Provide the manufacturer’s recommended factory-formulated primer/sealers that are <br />compatible with the substrate and finish materials indicated. <br />B. Available Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, primer/sealers that may be incorporated in the <br />Work include, but are not limited to: <br />1.
