Completed Work: Match approved samples for color, texture, and coverage. Remove, refinish, or repaint <br />work not complying with specified requirements. <br />3.6 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A. The Owner reserves the right to invoke the following test procedure at any time and as often as the Owner <br />deems necessary during the period when paint is being applied: <br />B. The Owner will engage the services of an independent testing agency to sample the paint material being used. <br />Samples of material delivered to the Project will be taken, identified, sealed, and certified in the presence of the <br />Contractor. <br />C. Testing agency will perform appropriate tests for the following characteristics as required by the Owner: <br />1. Quantitative materials analysis. <br />2. Abrasion resistance. <br />3. Apparent reflectivity. <br />4. Flexibility. <br />5. Washability. <br />6. Absorption. <br />7. Accelerated weathering. <br />8. Dry opacity. <br />9. Accelerated yellowness. <br />10. Recoating. <br />11. Skinning. <br />12. Color retention. <br />13. Alkali and mildew resistance. <br />14. If test results show material being used does not comply with specified requirements, the Contractor <br />may be directed to stop painting, remove noncomplying paint, pay for testing, repaint surfaces coated <br />with rejected paint, and remove rejected paint from previously painted surfaces if, upon repainting with <br />specified paint, the two coatings are incompatible. <br />3.7 CLEANING AND PROTECTION <br />A. Cleanup: At the end of each work day, remove empty cans, rags, rubbish, and other discarded paint materials <br />from the site. <br />1. After completing painting, clean glass and paint-spattered surfaces. Remove spattered paint by washing <br />and scraping. Be careful not to scratch or damage adjacent finished surfaces. <br />B. Protection: <br />1. Protect work of other trades, whether being painted or not, against damage by painting. Correct <br />damage by cleaning, repairing or replacing, and repainting, as acceptable to Architect. <br />2. Provide "Wet Paint" signs to protect newly painted finishes. Remove temporary protective wrappings <br />provided by others to protect their work after completing painting operations. <br />a. At completion of construction activities of other trades, touch up and restore damaged or <br />defaced painted surfaces. <br />3.8 PAINT SCHEDULE <br />A. Interior Paint Schedule: PT-1, PT-2, PT-3, PT-4, PT-5 <br />1. General: Provide the following paint systems for the various substrates, as indicated. Refer to Division <br />09 Section Special Coatings for epoxy coating systems scheduled. <br />2. Concrete Masonry Units: <br />a.
