Orange County Health Department Improvements Smith Sinnett / 2024008 <br />Hillsborough, NC Orange County Asset Management Services <br />SELECTIVE STRUCTURE DEMOLITION 02 41 19 - 2 <br />2. Interruption of utility services. Do not interrupt utility services unless interruption is coordinated <br />with Owner. <br />3. Coordination for shutoff, capping, and continuation of utility services. <br />4. Use of elevator and stairs. <br />5. Locations of proposed dust- and noise-control temporary partitions and means of egress. <br />6. Coordination of Owner’s continuing occupancy of existing building and of Owner’s partial <br />occupancy of completed Work. <br />7. Means of protection for items to remain and items in path of waste removal from building. <br />B. Pre-demolition Photographs: Show existing conditions of adjoining construction and site improvements, <br />including finish surfaces, that might be misconstrued as damage caused by selective demolition operations. <br />Submit before Work begins. <br />C. Landfill Records: Indicate receipt and acceptance of hazardous wastes by a landfill facility licensed to <br />accept hazardous wastes. <br />1. Comply with submittal requirements in Division 01 Section "Construction Waste Management and <br />Disposal." <br />1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Demolition Firm Qualifications: An experienced firm that has specialized in demolition work similar in <br />material and extent to that indicated for this Project. <br />B. Regulatory Requirements: Comply with governing EPA notification regulations before beginning <br />selective demolition. Comply with hauling and disposal regulations of authorities having jurisdiction. <br />C. Standards: Comply with ANSI A10.6 and NFPA 241. <br />1.7 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A. Conditions existing at time of inspection for bidding purpose will be maintained by Owner as far as <br />practical. <br />B. Notify Architect of discrepancies between existing conditions and Drawings before proceeding with <br />selective demolition. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A. Verify that utilities have been disconnected. Capping of utilities is not allowed. Utility lines shall be <br />demolished and removed completely. <br />B. Survey existing conditions and correlate with requirements indicated to determine extent of selective <br />demolition required. <br />C. Inventory and record the condition of items to be removed and reinstalled and items to be removed and <br />salvaged. <br />D.
