Orange County Health Department Improvements Smith Sinnett / 2024008 <br />Hillsborough, NC Orange County Asset Management Services <br />CUTTING AND PATCHING 01 73 29 - 1 <br />SECTION 01 73 29 - CUTTING AND PATCHING <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br />A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and <br />other Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section includes procedural requirements for cutting and patching. <br />B. Related Sections include the following: <br />1. Division 02 Section "Selective Structure Demolition" for demolition of selected portions of the <br />building. <br />2. Divisions 2 through 49 Sections for specific requirements and limitations applicable to cutting and <br />patching individual parts of the Work. <br />1.3 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Cutting: Removal of in-place construction necessary to permit installation or performance of other Work. <br />B. Patching: Fitting and repair work required to restore surfaces to original conditions after installation of <br />other Work. <br />1.4 RESPONSIBILITIES <br />A. General: The Contractors shall recognize that cutting and patching work is historically and typically <br />difficult to coordinate. The Contractors shall cooperate with each other and the Architect in coordinating <br />the cutting and patching work on this project to overcome these historical and typical problems. <br />B. Cutting and patching of completed new construction required due to out of sequence construction and/or <br />improper coordination is the responsibility of the Contractor and responsible for the out of sequence <br />construction or improper coordination. Cutting and patching of new construction for these purposes shall <br />be accomplished by the Contractor for General Work and shall be paid for by the Contractor responsible. <br />C. Contractor for General Work shall cooperate with Architect and other Contractors to accomplish this <br />cutting and patching with minimal disruption to construction. <br />1.5 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Cutting and Patching Proposal: Submit a proposal describing procedures at least 10 days before the time <br />cutting and patching will be performed, requesting approval to proceed. Include the following <br />information: <br />1.
