Orange County Health Department Improvements Smith Sinnett / 2024008 <br />Hillsborough, NC Orange County Asset Management Services <br />TEMPORARY FACILITIES AND CONTROLS 01 50 00 - 1 <br />SECTION 01 50 00 - TEMPORARY FACILITIES AND CONTROLS <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.1 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br />A. Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and other <br />Division 01 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br />1.2 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section includes requirements for temporary utilities, support facilities, and security and protection <br />facilities. <br />B. Related Sections include the following: <br />1. Division 01 Section "Summary" for limitations on utility interruptions and other work restrictions. <br />2. Division 01 Section "Submittal Procedures" for procedures for submitting copies of implementation <br />and termination schedule and utility reports. <br />1.3 DEFINITIONS <br />A. Permanent Enclosure: As determined by Architect, permanent or temporary roofing is complete, insulated, and <br />weathertight; exterior walls are insulated and weathertight; and all openings are closed with permanent <br />construction or substantial temporary closures. <br />1.4 USE CHARGES <br />A. General: Cost or use charges for temporary facilities shall be included in the Contract Sum. Allow other <br />entities to use temporary services and facilities without cost, including, but not limited to, Owner’s construction <br />forces, Architect, occupants of Project, testing agencies, and authorities having jurisdiction. <br />B. Water Service: CONTRACTOR WILL pay all water service connection expenses or charges for water used by <br />all entities for construction operations. CONTRACTOR WILL pay for actual water use charges until <br />Substantial Completion. <br />C. Electric Power Service: CONTRACTOR WILL pay all electric power service use charges for electricity used <br />by all entities for construction operations. CONTRACTOR WILL pay for actual electrical use charges until <br />Substantial Completion. <br />1.5 SUBMITTALS <br />A.
