FY26 Annual Work Program Nishith Trivedi, Transportation Director, <br /> Updates 919-245-2007 <br /> PURPOSE: To approve FY26 Annual Work Program for transit updates. <br /> BACKGROUND: GoTriangle has recently appointed Steven Schlossberg, Director of Finance and <br /> Budget, as the Tax District Administrator for the Transit Tax across the three counties (Wake, <br /> Durham and Orange). GoTriangle has also implemented administrative updates to several project <br /> sheets that were previously approved in the FY26 Annual Work Program. These updates include: <br /> • Ensuring current GoTriangle personnel are identified <br /> • Removing all references to commuter rail <br /> The Annual Work Program is subject to approval solely by Orange County and GoTriangle as the <br /> designated authorizing entities. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with approval of these updates. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 4: MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Identify priorities and resources necessary to implement the Orange <br /> County Transit Plan. <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Increase community awareness of all modes of transportation including <br /> transit, bike and pedestrian, vehicle, and all other modes. <br /> OBJECTIVE 3. Support road projects that address congestion and reduce commute time <br /> using the County' s Complete Streets policy. <br /> OBJECTIVE 4. Coordinate transit investments with municipal and county land use <br /> planning to reduce vehicle miles travelled and to provide more equitable access to <br /> shopping, employment, medical centers, college campuses, etc. <br /> OBJECTIVE 5. Invest in implementing the County' s Safe Routes to Schools plan. <br /> OBJECTIVE 6. Update transportation related plans to provide more multi-modal options <br /> including rural Orange County. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the FY26 Annual <br /> Work Program for transit updates (Attachment 1). <br />
