He said over 700,000 <br /> 6 individuals experience homelessness each night across the nation, and over 11,626 people were <br /> 7 homeless in North Carolina during the 2024 Point-In-Time Count. He said unhoused individuals <br /> 8 may use public transit for shelter from the elements and if people feel unsafe, they will stop using <br /> 9 transit. He said GoTriangle modeled the Transit Ambassador Program after some of the agencies <br /> 10 on the slide above that have developed a proactive approach to increasing and improving the <br /> 11 safety of transit systems. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 <br />
