Charity Kirk: Do you already feel, Patrick and Ashley, do you already feel that that's already done.

Ashley Moncado: As I stated before. When he would come through the zoning compliance process, that's when the
final landscape plan would be reviewed, working with him, and we would be referring to that list.

Charity Kirk: Is it helpful if we make it a condition?

Ashley Moncado: I don't know if I can answer that, again, it's between the Board and the applicant.

Beth Bronson: It's your preference. That's, why you're on the Board though. Like,we can.

Charity Kirk: Okay. I would like to make that a condition.

Lamar Proctor: How would you phrase that?

Charity Kirk: All landscaping needs to be selected from the Orange County preferred plant list.

Lamar Proctor: Okay. As an amendment to Condition 15,essentially?

Charity Kirk: Yes.

Chris Johnston: But this is helpful to know that our plant list, if an applicant is adhering to it, may still run afoul.
They may have more specific requirements than we list out.

Lamar Proctor: Who, the Wildlife Commission?

Chris Johnston: Yeah,the Wildlife Commission.

Patrick Mallett: Well, because, they just have a different list. There is so many lists. This is why we spend a lot of
time methodically thinking about as it applies to Orange County and North Carolina.

Charity Kirk: I don't believe the lespedeza is on the list. Like you said, I mean I'm looking at what the Wildlife
Commission is saying. I haven't actually seen the plants you've selected because it's too small.

Patrick Mallett: My point is,we spent a lot of time and effort developing a list and it did give thought to not every
tree is appropriate in every situation. Some are not well suited for vehicular areas, and so on and
so forth. So, all I would add is that if you're going to do a condition,we have a recommended
plant list, and there's nothing in the ordinance that would obligate any applicant to rigidly adhere to
that plant list for selection of their materials. It's a recommended plant list. When they came in
with a landscape plan, without any condition we would point to that say and we,we really prefer
you use these materials. Or something from this list.

Statler Gilfillen: Can we put that proposal to require it though for this approval?

Lamar Proctor: Well, if Justin agrees to it.

Patrick Mallett: It's not for me to say, it's for the Board to discuss with the applicant.

Justin Chandler: With consideration with my landscape plan, I'd use the list as my reference for what I put on the
property. I'm happy to adhere to it. I'm happy to put it in my site plan notes. I'm happy to put it as
a condition. Whatever you guys want.

Charity Kirk: I don't have a list. I haven't seen it. Okay. I can continue poking, but I think I've spent enough
time. I'm ready to move on.
