Contract Renewals with School Systems for Adolescent Parenting Services <br />The Board will consider continuing contracts with each school system to provide specialized services to <br />pregnant and parenting teens. <br />s. Contract Renetival with Northen Blue for DSS Leal Sei•~rices <br />The Board will consider approving the Fiscal Ycar 2004-OS renewal contract for legal representation for the <br />Department of Social Services, subject to final review by stag and the County Attorney. <br />t. Renewal of Contract for Curbside Recyclvi~ <br />The Board will consider approving the contract renewal with Waste Industries, Inc. for urban and rural <br />curbside recycling services, which «~ill enable Orange County to continue to provide urban curbside <br />recycling services over the next fiscal year, and further allow the County to end the contracting of rural <br />curbside recycling services in anticipation of a transition to providing this service as part of the County <br />operated recycling program and authorize the Chair to sign subject to final revie«T by Staff and the County <br />Attorney. <br />u. Renewal of Voluntary A6i•icultural District - C:'arl and Elizabeth Walters <br />The Board will consider approving the renewal of an existing Voluntary Agricultural District for Carl and <br />Elizabeth y~'alters and Victor C. ~~~'alters, Sr. <br />v. Efland C1leeks Park (Phase II) Li~htvi~ Plan <br />The Board «~ill consider authorizing the staff to contract for a lighting plan of the field and walking track <br />lighting as the initial part of construction of Phase II of Efland-Cheeks Park. <br />tiv. General Assembly Establishment of the Orange-Chatham Bomidary Line <br />The Board will consider approving a resolution requesting that the North Carolina General Assembly <br />establish the boundary ling between Orange County and Chatham County. <br />x. Home and tyommunity Care Block Grant for Older Adults - Fundin6 FY 2004-2005 <br />The Board will consider approving the recommended Home and Community Care Block Grant For Older <br />Adults Funding Plan in the amount of $427,956 for FY 2f)04-05 and authorize the Chair to sign. <br />y. Surplus Disposal 2004 <br />The Board will consider declaring items as surplus; and adopt a resolution authorizing the Director of <br />Purchasing and Central Services to conduct an auction of those personal property items declared surplus or <br />confiscated, said auction to be held on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the Public Works Department, Highway <br />86, Hillsborough; and authorize the transfer of three vehicles to the Wheels for Work Program; and approve <br />the continued reallocation of certain surplus personal computers to non-profit organizations meeting <br />approved criteria. <br />z. A_ pproval of Orange County's Three-Year Solid Waste Plan Update <br />The Board will consider adopting a resolution that provides formal approval of the tlu•ee-year update of <br />Orange County's Solid Waste Management Plan for submission to the State of North Carolina. <br />b. Resolutions oi• Proclamations (8:20-8:50) <br />a. Li~htnin~ Safety Awareness Vt~eek <br />The Board will consider designating the week of June 20th through 26th, 2004 as Lightning Safety Awareness <br />Week in Orange County and encourage residents to learn more about lightning safety. <br />b. Amateur Radio VS~eek <br />The Board t~~ill consider adopting a proclamation recognizing the week of June 20 through 27, 2004, as <br />Amateur Radio Week in Orange County and authorize the Chair to sign. <br />c. Next Steps Required for Approved Debt Issuance <br />The Board will consider the required actions necessary to facilitate the issuance of debt in accordance with <br />the debt issuance schedule presented to the Board on May 5, 2004; and establish a Public Hearing on June <br />23, 2004 and authorize the Finance Director and other staff to proceed as indicated within the resolutions. <br />
