Recreational fires shall not be conducted within 25' of a structure or combustible
material. Conditions that could cause a fire to spread within 25' of a structure
shall be eliminated prior to ignition.
David Genwright
NCDOT Date: Staff: digenwright ncdot.gov
336-570-6833
1. Permitting:
— Prior to performing work in NCDOT R/W, the applicant will need to obtain
the following:
— Approved NCDOT Driveway Permit for proposed connection to
Dairyland Road
— $50 Driveway fee per every access
— An approved NCDOT Encroachment Agreement for any proposed
utility installations or activities within right of way
2. Trip Gen:
— This 38-lot development is expected to generate less than 30 trips per
peak hour. Based on our findings, no roadway improvements are
expected from NCDOT. Other jurisdictions may have tother requirements.
3. Plans:
— Redlined plans with more details are being offered. See attached. Prior to
issuance of the above permit documents, and addition to the state
maintenance system, the applicant will need to satisfactorily address the
comments on the plans as well as the following highlights:
— With the intention of the roads being added to the state highway
maintenance system, the subdivision will need to be designed to the
standards found in NCDOT's Subdivision Roads Minimum Construction
Standard and to NCDOT road addition requirements.
— Road addition following the proposed phasing would prohibit addition of
roads.
— The division of phase 1A and 1 B would prohibit the addition of "Eden View
Way„
— Phase 1 A as proposed has to few houses for the road to be considered for
addition to state maintenance.
— The Division of Phase 1 B and 2 would prohibit the addition of "Bildan
Way"
— Phase 1 B as proposed has to few housed on "Bildan Way" for the road to
be.
— If the Phases are intended to be built as proposed, turnarounds will need
to be designed for the end of the roads of each phase until full build out
— The attached memo "Secondary Road Turnaround Policy" gives NCDOT
policy on turnarounds and cul-de-sacs.
4. Stormwater:
— The Subdivision Roads Minimum Construction Standard's page 17 has
NCDOTS expectations on stormwater controls.
