Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough NC 27278 <br />Dear Chair Jacobs: <br />Subject: Board Appointment <br />The Qrange County Advisory Board on Aging reviewed all applicants for the <br />Aging Board At-large Position #6 that was vacated upon the resignation of Ms <br />Vicki Tilley. At the April 14~h Aging Board meeting, the Board recommended Dr. <br />Janice Wassel to fill the position # 6 vacancy which term expires on 06/30/04 <br />and that she be appointed to a full year term to expire on 06!30/07, <br />Dr, Wassel is a resident of Hillsborough Township and is presently the Director <br />of Gerontology at the lJniversity of North Carolina at Greensboro. <br />She also has years of volunteer service with many organizations relating to aging <br />issues and serves on committees for The Institute of Aging in North Carolina a <br />UNCCH. Dr, Wassel has expressed interest in being involved with the <br />development of the new Senior Centers, With both her volunteer service and <br />professional experience, she will be an asset to the Advisory Board on Aging, <br />Thank you for your consideration of her nomination.. <br />Sincerely, <br />Jerry M.
