WHEREAS, the success and longevity of Community Resource Court exemplify Orange <br /> County's ongoing commitment to compassionate justice, community well-being, the de- <br /> stigmatization of mental health conditions and the Stepping Up Initiative; and <br /> WHEREAS, Caroline Ginley and James White have served as Clinical Managers for <br /> Community Resource Court for more than twenty years with integrity, empathy, unwavering <br /> commitment and have provided invaluable resourcefulness and expertise; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of County <br /> Commissioners formally recognizes the 25' Anniversary of Community Resource Court, <br /> honoring its more than 1,000 participants and team stakeholders and its significant impact on <br /> the lives of individuals and the community with a celebration at United Church of Chapel Hill on <br /> April 29, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that April 29, 2025, is hereby proclaimed as "Community <br /> Resource Court Day" in Orange County, encouraging all residents to support and recognize this <br /> invaluable program and the dedicated professionals who have contributed to its success over <br /> the past 25 years. <br /> This the 1 st day of April, 2025. <br /> Jamezetta Bedford, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Carter, seconded by Commissioner McKee, to <br /> approve the proclamation. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> c. County Government Month Proclamation <br /> The Board approved a proclamation designating April 2025 as County Government Month in <br /> Orange County. <br /> BACKGROUND: The National Association of Counties (NACo) celebrates National County <br /> Government Month each April to educate the public about county government.A proclamation to <br /> acknowledge April 2025 as County Government Month in Orange County is attached. <br /> In a change from past years, there is no specific theme associated with the 2025 celebration. <br /> NACo has encouraged counties to actively promote county roles and responsibilities in serving <br /> residents. <br /> To highlight County Government Month, the Community Relations Department will coordinate a <br /> social media campaign to highlight the various programs and services offered by the County. <br /> Wil Glenn, Community Relations Director, introduced the item. <br /> The Board of Commissioners read the proclamation in turn: <br />
