She said they need to <br /> communicate clearly what money is being spent upon. She said that as a Board, they do not <br /> determine when or how a revaluation is performed. She said that the state sets the process. <br /> She said that homes in her neighborhood have sold at much higher prices, and that is affecting <br /> the value of her home. She encouraged everyone to review the county website and contact the <br /> Tax Office to get a better understanding of the valuation. She thanked everyone for their <br /> comments, because the Board will use these comments as they balance the budget. <br /> Commissioner Carter thanked everyone for their comments. She said she is looking <br /> forward to her first budget cycle as a commissioner. Volunteer Week Proclamation <br /> The Board approved a proclamation declaring April 20-26, 2025, as "Volunteer Week" in Orange <br /> County. <br /> BACKGROUND: National Volunteer Week was enacted in 1974 by President Richard Nixon to <br /> celebrate the spirit of volunteerism and is recognized by states and local governments across <br /> the country.
