She said <br /> there is a working group that is reviewing different options. <br /> Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked if the old jail is vacant. <br /> Travis Myren said yes. <br /> Commissioner McKee noted that the total ten-year plan figure would be close to $1 <br /> billion. He said payments on the plan would extend 30 years. He said that the $895.8 million <br /> does not include interest. He said they would need to see the impact on the tax rate. <br /> Chair Bedford noted that debt will roll off each year as well and that part of the impact is <br /> the school bond. <br /> Commissioner McKee said that anyone with 100% or over increase, would have a very <br /> large increase this year just from the revaluation. He said if anything else comes up that they <br /> have to do, they might have to raise the rate. He said that in the 1980s, there were multiple <br /> years of major increases, and he does not want to get back in that because the escalation of <br /> values is not going to change. He said the trailing effect of valuation will not change. He said he <br /> wants to be very careful when he looks at this because the kids and grandkids will have to pay <br /> for this. He said that he accepts responsibility for his past votes that led to tax increases. He <br />
