Year-to-Date Budget Kirk Vaughn, (919) 245-2153 <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget, grant, and capital project ordinance amendments for Fiscal Year <br /> 2024-25. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Housing <br /> 1. The Housing Department has received $5,000 in donations to be used for the Street <br /> Outreach Harm Reduction and Deflection program. This amendment will provide for the <br /> receipt and use of those funds for Client Needs services in the Community Development <br /> Fund. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 2: HEALTHY COMMUNITY <br /> OBJECTIVE 3. Provide social safety net programming and the resources needed for <br /> our most vulnerable community members (e.g., veterans, unhoused people, foster <br /> children, older adults, etc.). <br /> Environment, Agriculture, Parks & Recreation (DEAPR) <br /> 2. DEAPR has been awarded $5,000 from the Duke Energy Foundation to provide free <br /> rainwater capture kits to Orange County residents. When kits are received, DEAPR will <br /> conduct workshops to educate attendees about the benefits of such kits. This amendment <br /> provides for the use of those awarded funds. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 1: ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CLIMATE ACTION <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Identify the priorities and resources necessary to implement the Climate <br /> Action Plan. <br />
