7 <br /> 1 WHEREAS, the success and longevity of Community Resource Court exemplify Orange County's <br /> 2 ongoing commitment to compassionate justice, community well-being, the de-stigmatization of <br /> 3 mental health conditions and the Stepping Up Initiative; and <br /> 4 WHEREAS, Caroline Ginley and James White have served as Clinical Managers for Community <br /> 5 Resource Court for more than twenty years with integrity, empathy, unwavering commitment and <br /> 6 have provided invaluable resourcefulness and expertise; <br /> 7 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of County Commissioners <br /> 8 formally recognizes the 25th Anniversary of Community Resource Court, honoring its more than <br /> 9 1,000 participants and team stakeholders and its significant impact on the lives of individuals and <br /> 10 the community with a celebration at United Church of Chapel Hill on April 29, 2025, from 3:00 to <br /> 11 5:00 pm; and <br /> 12 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that April 29, 2025, is hereby proclaimed as"Community Resource <br /> 13 Court Day" in Orange County, encouraging all residents to support and recognize this invaluable <br /> 14 program and the dedicated professionals who have contributed to its success over the past 25 <br /> 15 years. <br /> 16 This the 1st day of April, 2025. <br /> 17 <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Jamezetta Bedford, Chair <br /> 20 Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> 21 <br /> 22 A motion was made by Commissioner Carter, seconded by Commissioner McKee, to <br /> 23 approve the proclamation. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 26 <br /> 27 c. County Government Month Proclamation <br /> 28 The Board approved a proclamation designating April 2025 as County Government Month in <br /> 29 Orange County. <br /> 30 <br /> 31 BACKGROUND: The National Association of Counties (NACo) celebrates National County <br /> 32 Government Month each April to educate the public about county government.A proclamation to <br /> 33 acknowledge April 2025 as County Government Month in Orange County is attached. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 In a change from past years, there is no specific theme associated with the 2025 celebration. <br /> 36 NACo has encouraged counties to actively promote county roles and responsibilities in serving <br /> 37 residents. <br /> 38 <br /> 39 To highlight County Government Month, the Community Relations Department will coordinate a <br /> 40 social media campaign to highlight the various programs and services offered by the County. <br /> 41 <br /> 42 Wil Glenn, Community Relations Director, introduced the item. <br /> 43 <br /> 44 The Board of Commissioners read the proclamation in turn: <br /> 45 <br /> 46 <br />
