She said there <br /> 16 is a working group that is reviewing different options. <br /> 17 Commissioner Portie-Ascott asked if the old jail is vacant. <br /> 18 Travis Myren said yes. <br /> 19 Commissioner McKee noted that the total ten-year plan figure would be close to $1 billion. <br /> 20 He said payments on the plan would extend 30 years. He said that the $895.8 million does not <br /> 21 include interest. He said they would need to see the impact on the tax rate. <br /> 22 Chair Bedford noted that debt will roll off each year as well and that part of the impact is <br /> 23 the school bond. <br /> 24 Commissioner McKee said that anyone with 100% or over increase, would have a very <br /> 25 large increase this year just from the revaluation. He said if anything else comes up that they have <br /> 26 to do, they might have to raise the rate. He said that in the 1980s, there were multiple years of <br /> 27 major increases, and he does not want to get back in that because the escalation of values is not <br /> 28 going to change. He said the trailing effect of valuation will not change. He said he wants to be <br /> 29 very careful when he looks at this because the kids and grandkids will have to pay for this.
