E. Budget Details: New budget will be available in August, 2024. <br /> IV.Executive Committee Report- Lynn McGee (6:15-6:25) <br /> A. OC Community Remembrance Committee: Upcoming July 2 Symposium on the 60' <br /> Anniversary of the signing of the Civil Right Act (Flyer will be posted on social media sites) <br /> B. Vacancies - 1 vacancy and 8 applicants. Four applicants responded to our invitation to join <br /> us to night for a "Meet and Greet", and three showed up, namely Shane Lukas, Cory Hogans, <br /> Alex Fowler). Scoring rubric will be used to establish recommendations for placement on the <br /> HRC. CM will inform the advisory board of the definite date for nomination to the BOCC <br /> during the Aig, 2024 Meeting. Commissioners are asked to complete their scoring rubrics, <br /> and be prepared to submit scores as directed in the Aug, 2024 meeting. <br /> C. Communications (Nathalie & Jemm)— Goals are to post more frequently and consistently. <br /> There is a brand new Instagram Page. Jemm will be appointed as the admin on the <br /> Instagram and Facebook page when Courtney can get the assistance and attention of the IT <br /> department. <br /> D. Retreat Date & Content: Proposed time is in September and can be combined with the <br /> Sep HRC Meeting. <br /> V. Subcommittee Reports: (6:25-6:45) <br /> A. Policies and Procedures: Co-Chairs: Josh &Anjail: Revising By-Laws (Policies and <br /> Procedures document) that will be reviewed during the Retreat. <br /> B. Outreach & Engagement: Co-Chairs: Brooke & Rhian: Goal for Retreat: Plan for <br /> engagement & Survey for community needs. <br /> C. Community Events: Co-Chairs: Michael &Tonya: <br /> a. Book Read: Move this event to September. Proposed Book is "The Intersectional <br /> Environmentalist". Partner with the Sustainability Committee and the county library <br /> community engagement coordinator. <br /> b. Middle East Unrest Community Conversation: CM will reach out to Gene Troy to as <br /> for trends across NC. BCY talked to Essential Partners regarding a community <br /> conversations series, but this may be better suited for FY2025. <br /> VI. Other Business: (7:05-7:15) <br /> A. Essential Partners has one more seat in their Fellowship: Any interest <br /> B. Blackwood Farm Park Slave Cemetery: Historic marker sponsorship-CM to line up a meeting with <br /> the Parks and Rec Dept to discuss since the Blackwood Farm is under their leadership. <br /> VII.
