Call to order— Lynn McGee, Chair (6:00pm) <br /> Community Member Rodney Williams lived in Cedar Point and spoke for approximately twenty <br /> minutes. Indicated that he experienced non-payment of work done on property and has been <br /> harassed and the subject of racial epithets and threats. Consequently, he has been homeless. <br /> He now doesn't have a lease, and his family is split up amongst different residences as they <br /> have nowhere to live. He also can't get his deposit back or a reference which is impeding his <br /> ability to gain new accommodation. <br /> Bonnie indicated that there were services from the County he can avail himself of. Courtney <br /> indicated his complaints are in progress with the Equity Office. <br /> II. Meeting Minutes Approval: Feb 10, 2024, Meeting Minutes Approval <br /> Moved: JR <br /> Seconded: MF <br /> Approved <br /> III. County Updates - Bonnie Hammersley, County Mgr & Courtney McLaughlin <br /> A. OEI Status: Courtney is the interim OEI director. Shameka resigned effective 22 March. A <br /> reorganization was in process regardless and will be sped up to streamline the process. The Fair <br /> Housing aspect of OEI will move to the Housing Director, where they can avail themselves so <br /> legal advice and supervision OEI will have a director, community engagement and language <br /> services. <br /> The HRC would still be expected to be hear appeals as has been the case until today. Courtney <br /> will be the liaison for the HRC until further notice, and Bonnie will attend our HRC meetings for <br /> the near-term meetings. <br /> B. Upcoming Events: Courtney stated some Juneteenth celebrations may be coming up. <br />
