1 <br /> APPROVED 516125 <br /> MINUTES <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> WORK SESSION <br /> March 11, 2025 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met for a Work Session on Tuesday, March 11, <br /> 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted Human Services Center in Hillsborough, NC. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Jamezetta Bedford, Vice-Chair Jean Hamilton <br /> and Commissioners Marilyn Carter, Amy Fowler, Sally Greene, Earl McKee, and Phyllis Portie- <br /> Ascott <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None. <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Travis Myren, Deputy County Manager Caitlin <br /> Fenhagen, and Clerk to the Board Laura Jensen. (All other staff members will be identified <br /> appropriately below) <br /> Chair Bedford called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All commissioners were present, <br /> except Commissioner Greene. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Carter, seconded by Vice-Chair Hamilton, to add <br /> discussion of a letter regarding federal budget impacts to the agenda. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> Chair Bedford said they would take that item up at the end of the published agenda. <br /> 1. Boards and Commissions —Annual Work Plan Summaries <br /> The Board received brief presentations from representatives from the first group of County boards <br /> and commissions on their annual work plans and provide feedback and/or direction. The first <br /> group of work plan presentations occurred at the February 11, 2025 work session. <br /> BACKGROUND: Each year the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) requests that internal <br /> boards and commissions complete reports on the activities each board has conducted over the <br /> past year and a plan for future activities consistent with the goals and objectives of the BOCC. <br /> The Chairs or other board representatives make presentations to the BOCC to share the <br /> information in their written report.
