1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: May 6, 2025 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 8-m <br /> SUBJECT: Change in BOCC Meeting Schedule for 2025 <br /> DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Draft 2025 BOCC Meeting Calendars Laura Jensen, Clerk to the Board, 919- <br /> 245-2130 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider changes to the Board of Commissioners' meeting calendar for 2025. <br /> BACKGROUND: Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40, the Board of County <br /> Commissioners must fix the time and place of its meetings or provide a notice of any change in <br /> the Meeting Schedule. <br /> It is proposed to schedule two (2) Business meetings to be held on July 8, 2025 and August 26, <br /> 2025. The meetings will be held at 7:00 pm in the Whitted Building in Hillsborough. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There are additional costs that will be incurred for contracted audio and <br /> video vendors to assist with Iivestreaming the two (2) additional meetings. <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GUIDING PRINCIPLE — COMMUNICATION AND AWARENESS <br /> We provide information and opportunities for engagement in a transparent manner so that <br /> all in our community have knowledge, understanding, and a voice. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board amend its meeting calendar for <br /> 2025 and conduct two (2) Business meetings on July 8, 2025 and August 26, 2025 at 7:00 pm at <br /> the Whitted Building in Hillsborough. <br />
