She petitioned for a subcommittee of <br /> 2 three commissioners and appropriate staff to be developed to review existing evaluation methods <br /> 3 of the manager, attorney, and clerk and she asked that this be done after budget season. She <br /> 4 also petitioned for a dashboard on the county website showing the impact of federal funding cuts. <br /> 5 Chair Bedford reminded the Board about the ribbon cutting at the Drakeford Library <br /> 6 Complex and that they have time allotted for remarks. She said her husband went to the Repair <br /> 7 Cafe and encouraged people to bring broken items to a future event so they can be repaired and <br /> 8 reused. She said that they were able to fix a clock that he brought and that it was all for free. She <br /> 9 said it is a non-profit and they volunteer time and supplies to fix broken items for free. She said <br /> 10 that she created a document with the learning needs they want to go over and she is mentioning <br /> 11 this to get it in the public record. She said they need more time to pay attention so they will not <br /> 12 be able to follow the calendar exactly as planned. <br /> 13 Commissioner Greene said she is part of the interview process for a new GoTriangle CEO <br /> 14 this week and they have four more to go. <br /> 15 Commissioner Carter said the vernal equinox will be on March 20. She said there are <br /> 16 many people who celebrate the first day of spring and wished everyone a happy day. <br /> 17 Commissioner McKee said he is happy spring is here. He said the Orange Grove FD put <br /> 18 on a breakfast and he attended that on Saturday. He suggested that people go and enjoy the <br /> 19 fellowship. He echoed Commissioner Portie-Ascott's comments on the number of housing units <br /> 20 needed in Orange County. He said they will need to figure out some way to address affordable <br /> 21 housing needs in the county. <br /> 22 Commissioner Fowler said on Friday, May 30 the Orange County Health Department will <br /> 23 host an event regarding measles at the Whitted Building in Hillsborough. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 4. Proclamations/ Resolutions/ Special Presentations <br /> 26 a. OWASAAnnual Update Presentation <br /> 27 The Board received a presentation and information from the Orange Water and Sewer Authority <br /> 28 (OWASA) on recent activities. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 BACKGROUND: At the beginning of each calendar year, OWASA representatives appear before <br /> 31 the Board of Commissioners to make a presentation on recent OWASA activities. Orange County <br /> 32 appointees Michael Hughes and Johnny Randall and OWASA Executive Director Todd Taylor will <br /> 33 present the annual update.
