INA <br />Mr. Seibel stated that the elementary and secondary education act as amended We a special <br />rovision to provide a grant of about $111,000 to orange County. Under the provisions Title I of <br />,his act the local educational agencies must develop plans in coordination with the local community <br />ction agencies, e.g. the county advisory Board where such exists. Mr. Seibel suggested that one <br />bard be designated to coordinate the pertinent provisions of the act with both school boards. Knight, Sheriff, Bras present for the opening of the one bid received from Ray Motor Co. <br />for replacing one automobile in his department. Upon motion of Commissioner Walker, seconded by <br />Commissioner Ray, and unanimously adopted, the bid of $1,84L for one automobile was accepted and <br />Sheriff Knight was authorized to proceed with purchase of said car from Ray Motor Co. <br />Upon motion.-of Commissioner Smith, seconded by Commissioner Ray, and unanimously adopted, <br />Hubert Patterson, Medical aaminer, was to be reimbursed in the amount of $19.72 for expenses incurred <br />due to his attending a.national medical examiner's meeting. <br />The following letter was filed by E. M. Lynch, C. S. C., with the Board as per previous <br />action taken at this meeting: <br />"The Board of Commissioners of Orange County <br />Hillsboro, North Carolina <br />Gentlemen: <br />Pursuant to the authority of General statutes 110-22, it is requested by the under- <br />signed, Clerk of the Superior Court of Orange County, that the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Orange County appoint some competent and qualified individual to <br />serve as Judge of the Juvenile Court in Lieu of the Clerk of the Superior Court. <br />Respectfully pours, <br />/s/ E. M. Lynch <br />E M. Lynch, <br />Clerk of the Superior Court <br />of Orange County" <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. <br />Harvey D.
